Proudly Launches The Kumeyaay Cultural Repatriation Committee Web Site Web site launch celebrated at banquet highlighted by traditional Birdsong performance Lakeside, CA, July 08, 2001 -- Purmedia, Inc. was proud to join in the Kumeyaay celebration, hosted by the Barona Tribe of Mission Indians, to present and launch the new site (www.kumeyaaykcrc.org) directed at informing, unifying and aiding the Kumeyaay Nation in their repatriation efforts. Attendees were treated to a pair of truly inspiring Birdsong performances. "We have completed a journey that has taken many unforeseen turns," said Kumeyaay spokesman Steve Banegas, "what these people have done is remarkable and was not easy." The PurMedia team presented the site to members of several tribes who had gathered for the celebration. The site features a fully robust back-end administration system, a PurMedia trademark, enabling the tribe to update image galleries, post user submitted articles, and keep in touch through use of an online bulletin board. "We look forward to continuing work with the Kumeyaay Nation as well as other California Nations and tribes," said Mike Vaccaro, PurMedia Director of Operations, "This was a great opportunity for us to learn about the rich culture of California's Native American Community and help them maximize the Web as a tool in their efforts.
